Capacity Building

DGOH initiates and supports a wide range of capacity building projects. All projects are being conducted in close cooperation with institutions in low-and middle-income countries like Brasil,China, Egypt, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, Philippines, Tanzania, Turkey and Vietnam.

Many countries have asked our support in organising training programs on specific topics like ART, oral function, analysis on free fluoride in toothpaste and school health programs. As from 2004, we organise advanced short courses in oral health and dental education.

Our projects target dentists, dental students, dental staff and occasionally other primary health care health personnel in low and middle income countries.

We also coordinate over 25 PhD projects, mostly by providing supervision and partial funding for these projects.
